Bob Hobbs { APRN, MBA }
Bob has lived most of his life in Louisville. He attended Bishop David High School (Holy Cross) in Louisville and then moved south to play college baseball at the University of Louisiana Lafayette, graduating with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration. After college Bob returned to Louisville. He obtained his BSN from Bellarmine University and went on to receive a Masters Degree in Adult Nurse Practitioner from St. Louis University and also a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Louisville. Bob has also held certification as a American Council on Exercise Certified Personal Trainer. Bob has worked in patient care for over 10 years, helping thousands of patients in areas that included acute hospital care, emergency room care, and clinical settings. He has authored a book on fitness and health entitled Resolution Kept.
Bob has competed in 52 triathlons over 30 years including three Ironman distance races and two half Ironman distance races. Bob has run in 18 consecutive Kentucky Derby Minimarathons. Bob is married to Rio and they have 5 children. Bob has a passion for helping others achieve their health goals.
Barbara Day { MS, RD, CN }
Barbara, a registered dietitian, is former publisher and nutrition editor of Kentuckiana Health Woman (5 years) and Kentuckiana HealthFitness magazine (12 1/2 years in Kentuckiana). She is the publisher of a New online health and wellness magazine, www.KentuckianaHealthWellness.com, which was just launched in August 2011.
Barbara is the former sports nutrition consultant to the University of Louisville Athletic Department (10 years) and the United States Navy SEALs (8 years). She is the author of Fast Facts For Fast People (ISBN 0-9631538-6-2) and High Energy Eating Sports Nutrition Workbook for Active People (ISBN 0-9631538-5-4). Her books and materials have been used by University of Louisville, University of Tennessee Lady Vols, and the Tennessee football program, the LSU basketball program, the Buffalo Bills, the Cleveland Browns and the United States SEALs.
Barbara serves on the advisory board of the Mayor's Healthy Hometown Movement Advisory Committee and was a member of the Medical Advisory Board for the Humana Active Outlook and Live It Up Magazines. She has written nutrition columns and programs for Human's Medicare Members, Livestrong, Alaska Department of Education, Southeast Outlook, and Jewish Hospital. She is a member of PE4Life, Coalition for a Healthy and Active America, the American Dietetic Association, NAWBO, and Greater Louisville, Inc.
Barbara enjoys running, cycling, and hiking and has 3 grown sons and 9 grandchildren. She specializes in weight management, sports nutrition, and cardiovascular nutrition.
Rio Hobbs { MS }
Rio is a native of St. Louis, Missouri. She has a Bachelors of Science in Sports Medicine from Indiana University and a Masters of Science in Exercise Physiology from the University of Hawaii. She worked as a athletic trainer at 2 Pro Bowls in Honolulu and spent time working with the Los Angeles Lakers. She was the head athletic of a health care system in St. Louis and worked at the Missouri Valley Conference Men's Basketball Tournament. Recently she worked in spinal cord research at the University of Louisville. She enjoys walking, roller blading, playing the violin and has completed 3 mini-marathons. Rio is married to Bob and they have 5 children.
